The importance of correct nutrition

It is required to support growth, to ensure the correct development of his muscle & skeletal system, to support his internal organs and to promote coat and skin condition to name but a few. Remember that if your dog's diet is deficient in any one area, it will ultimately affect his overall wellbeing, with his performance impaired and post work recovery reduced. A sometimes overlooked component of your dog's diet is water. A supply of fresh, clean water should always be available in order to avoid dehydration.

In the wild, vegetables were a natural component of dogs 'diets, be it through the prey they ate or the berries and herbs they picked at. This component of their diet is as important today as it was then and therefore we have added green leaf vegetables, peas and beans to all of our Gusto diets. In addition, we have added the following for their nutritional properties:-
- Flax -a good source of essential fatty acids
- Beet pulp -a highly digestible source of fibre
